YR4 WK14: WOD #1-5

Sorry I’ve been really slacking on updating me workouts, mostly cause I’ve switched back to following Invictus workouts and we have to post them on their site so I get lazy about posting them twice. But here are a lot of back logs so I’ll try to get caught up.

5 Rounds

5-Power Cleans (205lbs)

10-Burpees

Finished in 10:17

Next day’s workout started out with some strength work:

Deadlift

5-3-1+

The first set I used 250lbs and the second set I used 280lbs. For the last set I had 315 and I got 4 reps which I was very happy about.

The workout for the day was:

15-DB Thrusters (50lbs); 100m-Sprint

10-DB Thrusters (50lbs); 100m-Sprint

5-DB Thrusters (50lbs); 100m-Sprint

I made the poor choice of doing this workout in lifting shoes, so sprinting was hard to do in those shoes. The last round really burned my legs and made the last 100m tougher then it should’ve. I finished in 2:36.

The next day’s workout was one that POS had done a while ago that they did over at Invictus and I really wanted to try:

“Last Man Standing”

On the minute, every minute, perform the following - once you fail at a certain movement, move immediately to the next (starting with the next minute interval): Push Press x 1 rep (start at 135 lbs and add 10 lbs. every minute) ———— Front Squat x 1 rep (start with the weight you finished with on the push press, add 10 lbs. every minute) ———— Ring-Dips x 12 reps ———— Toes to Bar x 20 reps (Goal is to be the last person working.)

I knew that the FS was going to screw me over in this workout. Mostly cause I can PP 225 but only FS 245, so if i did that I wasn’t going to get very far. Of course thats what happened. I got 225 for the PP but failed at 235. Then moved onto FS where I got 235 but failed at 245. Then I moved onto the Muscle Ups I did 2 rounds and then only got 2 in the next minute. So I moved onto T2B where I got 3 full rounds and only 10 on the 4th round. It was a real fun workout.

I went home for thanksgiving break and met up with POS and did the Invictus workout that he was supposed to do for the day which was:

Snatch (1RM)

Clean & Jerk (1RM)

We had 15-20mins for each to find our 1RM. I was feeling really good this day and it definitely showed. It didn’t start that way though, my first snatch at 175 I failed twice and then just moved onto 185. I got that and moved to 195 which I got real easily so I moved to my PR of 205 and same thing got it on my first attempt. So I moved to a new PR of 210lbs. I had two great attempts but failed both times. I decided to give it one more try to see if I could get and sure enough I did!

Then I moved to cleans which felt real light warming up. I started at 195,215,230,235 and then 245. So far all the weight felt pretty easy, which was new since my jerks had not been going so well lately. I moved to my PR C&J of 255, I got the clean ok and the jerk was no problem. So I moved to a new C&J PR of 265. I got the Clean but it was ugly and it was also a clean PR. The jerk didn’t go so well though and I missed it. But hey new snatch PR of 210lbs, new Power Clean PR at 265lbs and tying my C&J PR of 255lbs Great Day!

The next part was a strength portion which was:

Front Squat 5x2

My working sets were at 195,205,215 and 225. I knew 230lbs was my 2RM so I said hey I’m PRing like crazy today why not go for 235. So I did and what do you know another PR for the day with a new FS 2RM of 235lbs!

The last workout for that week was:

12minute AMRAP

20yd-Walking Lunge

10-Push Ups (w/Release)

30-Double Unders

I finished with 8.26rds
