YR4 WK24: Workout #1

Wow, after last saturday’s workout my quads were just completely done. They are so sore and I was just hoping for a workout that didn’t require me to use them too much. Good thing CJ knows what he’s doing cause that’s what I got. The first part was a new twist to our skill portion:

Part A.) 2 Sets for Max reps

Max-Unbroken Muscle Ups (12,7)

90sec-Rest

Max-L Sit (27sec, 23sec)

90sec-Rest

Max-Strict Handstand Push Ups (18,12)

90sec-Rest

MU=19, L-Sit=50sec, HSPU=30

I was happy with my Muscle ups for this portion and i didn’t realize how hard it was going to be to do them after HSPU. I also didn’t realize the toll that the MU would take on me when it came time to do the L-Sit cause I just couldn’t hold myself up.

Part B.) 4 Sets

3-Deadlifts

3x295, 3x315, 3x335, 3x350PR!

I didn’t feel at my best for these but I’m definitely a lot stronger then I was cause I still hit a PR even not feeling to great. My 1RM is 365, but I think I can do a lot more then that now. I was very happy with my effort here, so far so good!

Part C.) 5 Sets

30sec-Ground to Overhead (155lb)

90sec-Rest

6-8-7-8-8=37reps

I don’t know what I was doing on the first round. I was just not mentally ready for it that first set. I did 3 before letting the bar go and then went to singles, and the weight was bouncing around so that took awhile. When I looked at my watch at it was time I though only 6 what the fuck? After that I really picked it up, I never dropped the bar with under 5reps. I wish I would’ve started out better cause I would’ve liked to get 40reps. But, I was happy with my effort after the first round so I’ll take it. Great start to the week, hopefully my back won’t be too sore and my legs feel better.
