YR4 WK24: Workout #2-3

Falling a bit behind, but not too far on my logs. The second workout for last week wasn’t too long

Part A.) Weighted Pull Ups

8 Sets of Fewer Build to a Heavy Single

3x45, 2x55, 2x65,2x75, 4x75lbs

Thea heaviest DB we had was only 75lbs and we didn’t have weight belts with chains so I couldn’t go heavier then 75lbs. So I just decided to do max reps at that weight

Part B.) 3 Sets

1000m-Row

25-Pull Ups

15-Sit Ups

6min-Rest

5:12 (1K-3:40.1), 5:08 (1K-3:43.0), 5:04 (1K-3:41.9)

The sit ups were supposed to be GHD sit ups but we don’t have one so I just did ab-mat sit ups. My quads were still sore from Saturdays workout so I wasn’t too great on the rows. But all in all a pretty good day.

The third workout from last week started off with some skill movements:

Part A.) 3 Sets (not for time)

(10-15m) x Handstand Walk -10m,10m,10m

6-Strict Ring Pull Ups (no rope) - 6,6,6

(4-6) x Skin the Cats - 6,6,6

I’m getting more consistent with walking a full 10m in one try. This was the first time I’ve ever done a Skin the Cat and they are actually a lot tougher then they look, and pretty fun to do as well.

Part B.) In 15mins Build to a Heavy Split Jerk

1x135, 1x165, 1x195, 1x215, 1x235, 1x250

I wasn’t feeling to explosive today at all. My jerks just felt poor today even though 250 is 10lbs below my PR.  I just felt like I wasn’t getting under the weight and I really wanted to go heavier today. Some days I just great with my jerks but today not so much.

Part C.) 5 Rounds

6-Hang Power Cleans (155lbs)

12-Handstand Push Ups

50-Double Unders

Wow was this really tough. I’ve done a workout with HSPU and DU together I know they just crush your shoulders but this was even more reps than I had done before. I think two things hurt me in this workout, the first was wearing my lifting shoes. They messed up my HSPU a lot and I can’t really do DU in them either. The second thing was probably my rope being really crappy which requires me to use more of my shoulders then I would with a better rope when cycling my DUs. I felt I moved pretty well for the first 3 rds but the last two were a nightmare. It took me almost 10mins on the last two rounds. I had a log of singles for my HSPU and a lot of missed reps for both my DU and HSPU. Just a bad workout all together.
